Sunday Surf: Child-led bedtimes, babywearing, and a funny video.

We just returned from an unexpectedly beautiful mini-vacation “up north” and have fallen in love with the north woods.  Our drive home was filled with talk of spring fishing trips, summer camping, and all of the places we’ll see and things we’ll do.  It was a wonderful time.

But now, to Sunday Surf.   Links this week range from the ultra-serious to the completely off-the-wall.

A mother describes watching her son’s circumcision.  I wish the procedure was described in depth to the parents before they could consent to it.  If I could do it over again, I wouldn’t have consented to allowing that to be done to Jack.  I’m so sorry, baby, I didn’t know.  You were less than 24 hours old and I let you down.  Please forgive me.

The Natural Parents Network features a piece on child-led bedtimes.   I love this piece:  “We strive to have our children follow their bodies’ cues. We want to help them recognize when they are tired and go to sleep accordingly.“  Straightforward.  Simple.  That’s what I love about natural parenting.

A tearjerker story about how a really amazing child benefited from her mother’s dedication to babywearing. The story is old, but it was new to me. Read about how Mila’s mommy literally saved her life by wearing her.

I love the absurd, so it is no surprise that this video of a baby trashing a bar in Las Palmas cracked me up.  The fanny pack totally slayed me.

This whole site is amazing.  Recreating with Kids offers a whole slew of articles on vacationing with family.  New articles are posted to the site regularly, which keeps me coming back to read more.

I’ve been delving into the real/raw milk vs. pasteurized milk debate and I just don’t have enough information to form an opinion one way or another.  If any readers have opinions or facts to share on raw milk, please let me know.

I remember when my son was circumcised. I cried so hard :(

    Great blog.

I'm glad I found you from the hop. ;)

Maybe when my girls are a bit older I could let them tell me when they were ready for bed but at this point I need my evenings way too much and they would just stay awake forever!
