About MBJ

Welcome to Monkey Butt Junction!

In retrospect, it sure sounds like it was a terrible idea:  My husband and I met on Myspace, got matching tattoos on our first date, and just six weeks after we met he uprooted his life to move 2200 miles away, all in the name of love.  Now we’re married, we’re parents, and we’re living a life unlike anything we ever dreamed.  With old-fashioned values in our hearts, our loves are natural parenting, healthy living and homesteading.  God, family, friends, home.

Our cast of characters:

Jenn – Full time working mom, former anti-runner turned aspiring runner, author of the blog, a little on the crunchy side, a wannabe passable gardener, and chicken herder.

Dan – Formerly a stay at home superdad, called to work doing something he loves.  Transplanted from beautiful sunny California to beautiful chilly Wisconsin. He loves it here, really.

Smooch.

Jack – The light of our lives, and the kid with the best hair on the block military haircut best facial expressions, like, ever.

Why Monkey Butt Junction?

Catchy, isn’t it? Dan, in all his romantic sensibility, thinks that Monkey Butt is a great pet name for his wife.  Amazingly, I haven’t killed him yet.  It’s a good thing he’s handsome.

Hello. I clicked through from ONS because I was intrigued by your domain name. I get curious about anything with “monkey” in it (they were my favourite animals when I was little). My husband has weird pet names for me, too, so your story made me smile.

  3. Where in WI are you? I live in beautiful (freezing) Kenosha :)

  4. Just found you through the Bloghole linkup at YKIHAYHT because I loved the name of your blog! Now, I must tell you, I used to work with a girl whose pet name for her boyfriend was “Buttmonkeys”. You two really should get together. ;)
